SYNOPSIS

type name ...


DESCRIPTION

type identifies the nature of one or more names. Names can be executable files or KornShell reserved words, aliases, functions, or built-in commands. For executable files, the full path name is given.


DIAGNOSTICS

Possible exit status values are:

0 

Successful completion.

2 

Failure due to an invalid command line argument.

NOTE

This command is built into the MKS KornShell. There is a command of the same name built into the command interpreters on Windows systems which has no relationship to this command.
